A living space
always spotless.
In an assisted-living or senior residence, residents are independent but often sensitive to dust. A central vacuum makes the frequent upkeep of common areas and dwellings easier, and the suctioned air is discharged out of the living areas, never blown back where residents live. (This is not a medicalised care home.)
Common areas
always clean.
Corridors, shared lounges, service flats, supported dwellings: an assisted-living residence is cleaned often and everywhere. A standard vacuum is heavy to move, noisy for resting residents and blows dust back into spaces occupied by sensitive seniors.
With a central vacuum, inlets spread across the common areas and dwellings allow fast, quiet upkeep. The suctioned air is never blown back into the occupied spaces: it is discharged where the central unit sits — a utility room, a ventilated crawl space or outside, depending on the installation, with discharge outside recommended, which limits the resuspension of fine dust for sensitive residents. The hose type — retractable or traditional — is determined on site depending on use: discover our retractable hoses.
Built for
independent seniors
- Easier frequent upkeep of common areas and dwellings
- Less dust put back into suspension for sensitive residents
- Remote motor: silence for resting residents
- Perceived quality that adds value to the residence
- Suctioned air discharged out of the occupied spaces
Integrate it
during the works.
Building an assisted-living residence, renovating the common areas, reorganising the supported dwellings: this is the time to integrate a central vacuum, before flooring and finishes.
AspiWall sizes the central unit(s) to the surface (common areas, floors, dwellings) and spreads the inlets for efficient upkeep. Also consider the Laundry Jet for the common-area linen. A durable solution for professional buildings.
Common areas and dwellings
- → Inlets spread across corridors and shared lounges
- → One inlet per service flat or supported dwelling
- → Utility room for the central unit(s)
- → Ducts built in before the floor coverings
Where does
the air go?
A standard vacuum, a robot or a stick vacuum filters part of the dust but blows the air back into the room where it runs. With an AspiWall central vacuum, the dirt is sent to the central unit and the vacuumed air is expelled out of the living areas or out of the occupied zones, which limits the re-suspension of fine dust. That is what makes the difference in buildings open to the public and places sensitive to dust.
A benchmark for
air quality.
AspiWall offers central units in Belgium made by Trovac, among other manufacturers. Trovac's central vacuum system has been distinguished by AFPRAL (the French Association for Allergy Prevention) since July 2014. An important reference for buildings where air quality, dust, dust mites and allergens are sensitive matters.

Yes. The suctioned air is discharged out of the living areas or out of occupied zones, which limits the resuspension of fine dust. For an assisted-living residence, discharge outside is recommended: it's a real comfort for independent yet sensitive seniors, without however being a medical protection.
No. The motor of the central unit(s) is installed in a utility room, away from the dwellings and common areas. Near the inlet you only hear a light suction sound, far quieter than a canister vacuum in a corridor.
Depending on the size, one or several central units are connected to the duct network, with inlets in the common areas and dwellings. AspiWall sizes the installation to the surface and the number of levels.
By default, the central unit is designed for dry vacuuming. On request, AspiWall also offers wet & dry systems (water and dust), with a tank to empty or automatic drainage, useful for the upkeep of common areas.
Yes, installation is possible in an existing building. Contact AspiWall to assess feasibility based on the residence.
